Mr. Modestus Chukwulaka, an official of European Union (EU) at the secretariat, Central Business District Abuja, speaking from his office stated that the new government under Buhari should deal decisively with corruption in the various sectors of the economy.
According to him, all the past political leaders especially since 1999 should be probed, and all those who have looted the nation's treasuries should be brought to book and made to face the wrath of the law and their loots recovered.
He further expressed concern about the insecurity in the nation. According to him; “insecurity is the major challenge and setback to business and economic activities especially in the Northeast of Nigeria where Boko Haram insurgency has virtually destroyed economic development in the region.” He therefore urged the new government of Muhammedu Buhari to immediately swing into action as rightly declared in his inaugural speech that the Army Headquarters should be moved to the area (Marduguri), adding that all actions should be devoid of politics in order to put an abrupt end to the insurgency in the region.
